20 Dec What does root canal treatment involve?
Using a microscope and fine instruments, Dr Mohan makes a small hole in your tooth to access the root canal system. The root canals are then cleaned and disinfected before they are filled to avoid future bacterial infection. Typically, treatment is usually performed over 2 appointments of 60-90 minutes duration, depending upon the complexity of the case.
All treatment is performed under local anaesthesia to ensure your comfort. Additionally, all treatment is performed with a dental dam (a rubber sheet that fits over your tooth) which keeps the tooth clean and prevents any dental materials entering your mouth. Dr Mohan will need to take x-ray films before, during and after all treatments.
